Registered Veterinary Technician, Lead Technician
Sara is a Registered Veterinary Technician and is originally from Iowa. She obtained her veterinary technician degree from Kirwood Community College in 2009. She has 3 four-furry children, Roxy (cat), Addi (Pug), and Sassy (Black Mouth Cur). Her husband served as an Air Force pilot and now flies as a commercial airline pilot. She has 2 boys that keep her busy at home. Sara is our Lead Technician and Lead Surgical Technician; she is the one who ensures all surgical patients receive individual attention and comforts them during and after surgical procedures. She enjoys developing a relationship with owners and their pets to promote strong companion relationships.
Certified Veterinary Technician
Tori is originally from Long Beach, California. After living many years in Pensacola she has relocated to our slice of paradise in Fort Walton Beach. She is a Certified Veterinary Technician and completed her studies at Pensacola Junior College and at Pensacola State College graduating in 2014. She has over 15 years experience working and caring for animals. Tori has 3 fur babies, a Pekingese named Meesha and 2 cats Little Black & Caleesa. She spends her free time creating memories with her husband DJ and son Avery.
Certified Veterinary Technician
Megan has been a Certified Veterinary Technician since 2018. Originally from the Northern Virginia area, she earned her Bachelors Degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry in 2009 from Christoper Newport University in Virginia. She then returned to school in 2013 to pursue her certification as a veterinary technician from San Juan College through their long-distance program since she was living in England at the time. Megan worked with the Army Veterinary Corp for 5 years while in England helping care for the military working dogs and personally owned pets for overseas military. Megan relocated to Florida and joined the Companion team in late 2017. She has a young daughter, a cat named Maddie, 2 dogs Lily and Friday. In her spare time Megan enjoys quality time with her daughter, trying out new restaurants, going to the beach and adding to her plant collection. Megan has a passion for veterinary medicine and is looking forward to meeting your fur babies!
Licensed Veterinary Technician
As an Air Force brat Shannon lived majority of her life in Germany, but she also lived in England, Montana, and Tampa Florida. She met her now husband, who is also Airforce, in Germany. They moved to Norfolk Virginia where Shannon began her career in the veterinary field as a Veterinary Assistant. While living in Virginia she enrolled in a 3-year hybrid Veterinary Technology Program with Blueridge Community College graduating in 2018. She began her career as a Licensed Veterinary Technician in a small animal practice located in Virginia Beach. The military relocated Shannon and her husband here to the Florida Panhandle in Fall of 2019. Through COVID Shannon volunteered at the Emerald Coast Wildlife Refuge. She later became a part of the Companion team in early 2021.
Registered Veterinary Technician
Rachel is a Registered Veterinary Technician and is originally from West Virginia. She joined the Companion dental team in June of 2022 after moving from Las Vegas, NV. She obtained her Veterinary Technician degree from Columbus State Community College in 2011. She met her husband at West Virginia University and they have been together since. She and her husband are avid WV Mountaineer fans, enjoy going to the beach and going to the shooting range. Panda is the newest addition to the family who is a rescue cat they fell in love with immediately. Rachel's passion for animals came at a young age and she always knew she wanted to work with animals. Rachel has been a licensed veterinary technician for 10 years and prides herself in learning every day. Her passion is client education and helping animals.
Linda is primarily our Dental Technician. She attends advanced veterinary dentistry education classes every chance she gets. Although her primary role is providing excellent dental care for our patients, she helps in all aspects of our hospital from general patient care to the dirty work or cleaning up. Her love and compassion makes her a great team member. She is very passionate about transporting shelter dogs to rescues allowing them to escape the shelter world in hopes to find a forever home. Linda and her husband's love for animals started at an early age with family pets and the occasional backyard rescue of squirrels and baby birds. She is a native of the Fort Walton Beach area and received her AA degree from Northwest Florida State College. Linda is actively involved with several Basset Hound rescue organizations and opens their home to many rescue dogs.
Certified Veterinary Technician
Justine has worked in the veterinary clinic setting since 2018 with clinics located in Pennsylvania, Colorado, and Florida. She is originally from Palmerton, PA. Justine made her bug move to Florida and in November of 2021 we welcomed her to the Companion Team. She has 2 cats, Chloe the tortoise shell and Oscar the tuxedo. For as long as she can remember animals have been her passion. Justine's mother still has one of her childhood drawings from kindergarten of "What I want to be when I grow up..." which Justine drew a Veterinarian. Justine loves to work helping animals in any way she can. She enjoys being able to consistently grow in the veterinary field, continuously learning ways to provide the best care to animals. Justine takes pleasure in cooking or visiting the beach in her free time.
Harley is from Fort Walton Beach but has lived in Virginia and England. She has been a Veterinary Technician in the area since 2013. She has studied at Northwest State College and is currently enrolled with Penn Foster in pursuit of her Certified Veterinary Technician License. She volunteers at several local rescues and also helps foster dogs in need of forever homes. Harley and her husband have three dogs of their own, a disabled poodle named Eddie, a dachshund mix named Yoshi, and a trouble maker husky mix named Sky. During her free time, when she is not doing homework, she enjoys going to the beach or participating in water sports such as tubing and canoeing.
Ashley has been apart of the Companion Animal Hospital team since January 2019. She returned to Fort Walton Beach after having lived in Jacksonville, FL where she worked as a veterinary assistant for Banfield. She's loves to be part of Companion. Ashley in addition to patient care works as one of our Pharmacy Technicians ensuring all our patients medication needs are met. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Public Health from the University of West Florida, a career certificate in Veterinary Assistance from the University of South Alabama, and is studying through Penn Foster to become a Certified Veterinary Technician. She has five pets, two cats named Spooky and Pants, then her three conures Leonard, Peetree, and Miss Commodore Biscuit.
Angela is a local, born and raised in Okaloosa County. She has worked as a Veterinary Technician since 2017. Angela joined Companion Animal Hospital in Fall of 2020. As part of our Laser Therapy team Angela develops strong relationships with our patients and clients through rehabilitative services. Angela is married, her husband is active-duty Navy. She has a diverse animal family including Ares the Aussie mix, Athena the Great Dane mix, Hercules the Chihuahua, Zeus the bearded dragon, Sonic the hedgehog and a flock of Chickens. Angela likes to spend her leisure with family or getting active in the water by tubing.
April has called Crestview Florida home since the age of 2. She spent 5 years away in Nevada starting her veterinary career working with large animals. April graduated Animal Behavior College in 2015 as a Certified Veterinary Assistant. She loves cows and farm life. At home April and her husband Connor have four pets, a Boxer named Jacks, a Lab mix named Trixie, a Shipperke named Brie and a cat named Bullet. Since she was very young April has wanted to work with animals. She remembers being little following her grandparents dog around with a plastic stethoscope. In April's free time she is either in her pool or grilling with friends.
McKenzie started her veterinary medicine journey in 2017 as a client service representative with a clinic located in Nebraska. Uncertain if veterinary medicine was her desired career path, she took a year away from the field. McKenzie soon realized her strong love of veterinary medicine and decided to pursue it as her profession. She is currently enrolled with our scholarship program and working towards becoming a licensed technician! McKenzie has spent majority of her life in the Fort Walton Beach area. She considers the Emerald Coast home but being a military family she has had the opportunity to travel the world. McKenzie has 2 cats. Athena was a stray brought into a clinic where love struck at first sight and Athena was welcomed home as McKenzie's first cat. Her second cat Phoebe had been surrendered multiple times and the outlook was not so bright until Mckenzie welcomed her home too. She also has 2 fish, Marble the goldfish and Toothless who resembles a dragon. McKenzie enjoys spending her free time at the beach or meeting with friends for coffee and good conversations.

Meghan has spent all her life in Wyoming. She began working as a kennel technician and veterinary assistant through high school. Meghan attended the University of Wyoming where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Zoology with a minor in Literature. She continued vet assisting through college and became a Veterinary Technician after graduating. Her experience began in a single doctor practice. Shortly after the practice's veterinarian retired Meghan and her fiancé Garret made the big move to Florida. They have a Calio cat named Kiki and a German Shepard/Husky mix named Daphne. Meghan joined the Companion team November of 2021. We are happy to have Meghan on our team and hope our beautiful beaches will quell her missing the mountains.
Brandi moved to Florida from St. Louis Missouri in February 2022. She has worked as a Veterinary Assistant since 2002 and joined Companion March 2022. She is very passionate about providing quality care to animals. Brandi has three fur babies of her own, two Shih Tzus and a German Shepherd. She is married with two daughters and a stepson that keep her a very busy mom.

Ashley started working with animals in 2010 as a kennel/daycare/grooming manager and transitioned to the veterinary field in 2017 . Ashley and her husband moved to Crestview in September 2021. About a year after she joined the Companion team in August 2022. Ashely loves to continue learning and being able to put her growing knowledge and skills into practice daily. She currently has 2 dogs, a Pit named Larry and a Jack Russell named Caia. She also has fish. For Ashley rats will always have a soft spot in her heart. Her truly adored rats Pip and Gus passed away in early 2022. Ashley in her spare time, enjoys learning American Sign Language (ASL), hanging out with family and friends, skating, playing card/board games, eating or a taking nice nature trail.
